Peter Cuevas

Peter Cuevas is an associate attorney at the Law Office of Meagan Nunez, where he has practiced since 2023. A San Diego native, Peter brings a strong academic background and a collaborative, client-centered approach to his work, with a focus on advocating for students and families in special education matters.

Before joining the firm as an attorney, Peter served as a legal clerk, assisting with due process complaints, administrative hearings, and federal appeals. He earned his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in political science and recognition on the Dean’s List. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he earned top marks in Family Law and Refugee Law. He also graduated with distinctions in Child Rights and Remedies and was recognized as the Outstanding Clinic Intern in the Education & Disability Clinic.

Peter understands the emotional and legal complexities that often arise in special education law. His practice reflects a commitment to thoughtful advocacy informed by an understanding of educational policy, instructional methodologies, disability-related needs, behavioral supports, and dispute resolution processes. He remains engaged in ongoing professional development to stay current in this evolving area of law.

Outside of his legal practice, Peter enjoys exploring San Diego and is an avid supporter of the Padres.
